Site mockups done, forums on the way
Posted by Daniel · 04/09/2010 @ 06:34pmGreetings from my new iPad. I’m pleased to say that the primary site design mockups have all been completed, and we are very happy with them. Our designer is currently working on designs for the forums. Once these are completed, we will begin the process of coding up the new site. Stay tuned!
Progress
Posted by Daniel · 02/20/2010 @ 09:24pmWe are well on our way towards a new site design. Our designer has shown us a killer mockup of the future front page of Macteens, and we are very pleased. Great things are coming!
Design update
Posted by Daniel · 01/17/2010 @ 06:03pmAfter speaking to several candidates, we think we’ve locked down a designer for the redesign of Macteens. More details to follow!
Republished some articles
Posted by Daniel · 01/03/2010 @ 12:26pmAlthough we all agreed that taking the site offline was necessary for the rebuild, there were a few articles that still received a ton of traffic on a daily basis, and I was unhappy looking at all those 404 errors going by. So I ported over the most-viewed articles from the old site, including The Rules of Photography, Review: Pixelmator, and Why iMovie ‘08 Matters. Additionally, sites that link to them will properly redirect.
Forums are up
Posted by Daniel · 01/03/2010 @ 12:52amThe new forums are now up and running. Go grab yourself an account now! For information on why we’re doing this, go check out the faq. Most likely, these new forums will become the normal forums after the site relaunch, so it is highly recommended that you go sign up for a new account and start posting, as we will probably not be reverting to the old forum system.
Macteens status blog is up
Posted by Daniel · 01/03/2010 @ 12:20amWell, we’ve finally officially put up the status page, forums, and blog for the relaunch of Macteens. This blog will chronicle the rebuild and relaunch of the website, as progress is made. There currently is no comment feature on blog entries, but this was purely to save time so we could get to work on the actual website. If you want to respond or contact us, you can @reply to us on our Twitter account or send us a message via the contact page. We look forward to the next generation of Macteens!
